The Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference is idle this coming weekend. With only one weekend left to the in the regular season, the teams representing each division in the playoffs have already been locked in. However, the East Division title is yet to be decided as South Carolina and Tennessee square off on April 6th.
Last weekend's games included the deciding match in the West Division as LSU defeated Ole Miss 24-10 to clinch the West Division top seed. Other action saw South Carolina handle Kentucky 57-7, Vanderbilt sneak by an improving Georgia side 19-18, and Auburn blast Mississippi State 53-0.
SCRC Players of the Week
East Division
The SCRC East Division Player of the Week is Tim Holkenborg a Senior flyhalf from the University of South Carolina. Holkenborg has been a huge cog in the Gamecock offensive attack this season. This past weekend wasn't any different as Holkenborg scored 27 points on three tries and six conversions as South Carolina routed Kentucky 57-7.
"He continues to push his team to excel and rallied the defense throughout the game," added South Carolina Head Coach Mark Morris.
West Division
The West Division Player of the Week is Sebastian Kamyab, a Junior inside center from Auburn University. Kamyab continually pounded past the gainline while also creating opportunities for his teammates as he led the way in a massive 53-0 victory over Mississippi State.
