U.S.A. To Play Ireland In Dublin

The U.S. will play Ireland on November 24th at Aviva Stadium in Dublin according to the IRFU website. It will be the first time in a very, very long time that the U.S. will play a Tier I opponent in Europe. The match will come at the end of a long November for both teams. Both the U.S. and Ireland will be involved in the triple-header at Solider Field on November 3rd. That weekend Ireland will play Italy and the U.S. will play the Maori All Blacks.  The other two November (presumably there are two more) opponents for the U.S. are yet to be determined.

It will be interesting to see how this match shakes out. With the November 3rd match falling outside of the international window there is going to have to be some bargaining going on with some clubs. Given past history it is hard to see the likes of AJ MacGinty, Samu Manoa, and others being available for both matches.  If somehow the U.S. can swing it that their top players are available for both it will be a miracle. Still, the fact that the U.S. will play two Tier I countries (if you don't think the Maori All Blacks are Tier I caliber you are crazy) in November ahead of the World Cup.
