U.S.A. vs. Georgia at Infinity Park, June 16th

U.S.A. Rugby has announced the location of their Summer test match against Georgia on June 16th. Once again Infinity Park will play host to the Eagles. Tickets will go on sale Thursday and begin at $15.

While the Lelos and the Eagles haven't met too often, when they have the matches have been fairly tense. Previously, the Georgians have visited the U.S. as part of the Churchill Cup and were soundly beaten by the U.S. However, when the Eagles visited Georgia in the fall of 2010, an extended time score saw the Georgians win in controversial fashion.

The small, intense atmosphere that an Infinity Park crowd brings should make for an entertaining match, as should the closeness in talent between the two teams. Buy your tickets early and get ready for what could possibly be the best match of the summer.

  1. Really great to see! Infinity Park is a top class stadium. Lets hope for a sell out and a home win. What is the capacity of the stadium....5,000?

  2. WOOOOT!!!!! When I got the new that Italy was going to be in Houston I was so disappointed. Thought I wouldn't get to see a test match this year.

Glendale - Rugby Town USA - True Home of the Eagles!!!

  3. Love that Houston got a test match. 5000 for a test match? USARFU should be setting the bar much higher.

  4. Colorado has an MLS field that is occasionally rented by the Denver Barbarians for matches. It has a 18k+ capacity and an excellent support for broadcasting and even grass turf. Anyone happen to know what the largest attendance is for a Home based USA Test match and where?

An eagle test match is pretty much a guaranteed sellout for Infinity. Many of the clubs here in CO sort of compete to see who can bring the most support to any given test match here in CO. Barbos, Highlanders, Harlequins and of course the Raptors.

  5. It holds 4-5k. Having the match in a bigger venue would be nice, but would having 4000 fans packed into a stadium be better than 7000 spread out in an 18k stadium?

  6. 3000 x 15 bucks a ticket, that's 45 grand that doesn't go into USARFU'S til.

  7. USA Rugby receives 100 % of the ticket revenue. A sold out stadium makes for a Great Broadcast, Happy Sponsors, and a Dynamic Atmosphere. Glendale's HD stadium lights exceed FIFA HD Broadcasting standards -- the TV product coming from Infinity Park is spectacular! Go Glendale, and the Eagles!
