Roland Suniula Signs With Vienne

Roland Suniula has signed with Vienne in the Federale 1. Suniula spent last season with Auch in the ProD2 and made 14 appearances for the club with 10 starts. However, a series of injuries to his ankle and groin last year slowed him down considerably. Those same injuries kept him out of the Eagles summer series. In talking with TIAR Suniula estimated that he would be fully healed by the time the club season begins in August. At Auch he returned to his natural center position. He had been the Eagles top choice fly-half during the World Cup.

Viene, which is located just south of Lyon, finished ninth out of ten teams in Group 1 of the Federale 1 last season with sevens wins, one draw, and ten losses. Auch finished 13th out of 16 teams in the Pro D2. Suniula will join Mate Moeakiola, who plays for Nevers, as Americans in the Federale 1. Andre Liufau formerly played in the division.

What do you think of the news? Will the move be beneficial for Suniula? Do you think he can help the Eagles when he fully recovers?
