Quill Joins London Irish Senior Academy

London Irish have announced their Academy squad for the upcoming season and for American fans it will have at least one familiar name: John Quill. As we reported last February, Quill had returned to Ireland and had an opportunity to train with London Irish. Now it appears that Quill has been brought in for an extended look as a member of their Senior Academy team. That team trains full-time with the senior team. Quill has not signed with the team but will be trialling with the hopes of signing a contract later. Because he is an Irish citizen he does not count as a foreign player for the team. He will be eligible to play for the team in the 'A' League as well as other fixtures, including the Anglo-Welsh Cup. London Irish have six 'A' League fixtures set for September and October.
