Quill Returns To Ireland, Will Trial With London Irish

Recently capped Eagles John Quill will be returning to Ireland to play with his old club Dolphin for the remainder of the Ulster Bank League Division 1A season. Quill had been playing with Boston RFC in the Rugby Super League where he put in some outstanding performances. Those performances eventually helped him earn a look with the Eagles Selects at the Americas Rugby Championship, and subsequently with the full national team during their Autumn tour.

Quill is re-joining Dolphins in hopes of landing a professional contract somewhere in Europe. He reportedly has a trial with London Irish already set-up. While the move will be good for Quill professionally it puts a dent in Boston's hope of capturing the inaugural Elite Cup. The other American is the Ulster Bank League Division 1A is Gearoid McDonald. Cameron Falcon, Pierce Dargan, and Shawn Pittman all play with Trinity in Division 1B.

What do you think of Quill's move? Can he land a pro contract?
