Opening Kick is a segment devoted to bringing you all Eagles and U.S.A. Rugby news in one location.

It's going to be a big day here on the site to make sure to check back in.

Eagles:

The Dartmouth has a great piece on Nate Brakeley and his year playing rugby for Cambridge. It appears that if he doesn't play overseas, he hopes to move to Boston or San Francisco to play rugby.

There is a possibility that matches involving elite players will overlap this spring and summer, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

The Marietta Daily Journal previews this weekend's match between the U.S.A. South and Mexico.

Club:

Palmer will host the Midwest club championships on April 6th and 7th.

Youth:

Plans are in the works to host a Sevens Rugby National Championship in Tampa. U.S.A. Sevens is behind the idea.

There is still time to submit your team's application if they are interested in playing at the High School National Invitational.

Staying with high school rugby, Torrey Pines is on a roll and are undefeated so far in the season.

British Columbia have named their U-18 and U-17 teams for the Las Vegas Invitational.

The Springbok contingent at Toulon will get even bigger if Michael Claasens makes his rumored move from Bath to France.

Robbie Deans plans for an extended training camp ahead of the British & Irish Lions tour has been met with resistance by Australia's Super Rugby teams.

Across the Tasman Sea, Charlie Ngatai is eyeing Sonny Bill Williams old jersey.

Brian O'Driscoll will be playing with the Irish Wolfhounds in order to gain fitness ahead of the Six Nations. Also in Ireland, Jamie Heaslip has officially been named captain.

Ian McGeechan will be helping out England ahead of the Six Nations.

Matt Turner will be returning to the England 7's team. The full squad for Wellington and Las Vegas was announced yesterday.

Just a day after signing Alex Corbisiero, Northampton have lost prop Paul Doran-Jones to Harlequins, while Wasps center Chris Bell has extended his contract and wing Tom Varndell announces his new contract via YouTube.

Wales have received a fitness boost after Richard Hibbard, Ian Evans, and Ryan Jones have all be declared fit. (Is it just me or do Wales have half their team in the infirmary?).

Planet Rugby has their weekly look at who's hot and who's not.

Tidbits:

U.S.A. Rugby will be hosting a medical symposium in conjunction with the Las Vegas 7's.
