Game of the Week: South Africa vs. Australia

 

Like most weeks, there are a few great games on tap around the world. For instance, this week sees Auckland play Canterbury in a big ITM Cup showdown, while over in England the Harlequins will host London rivals Saracens. Still, our Game of the Week belongs to a match that comes complete with bitter rivals, long history, and much on the line for both teams--South Africa vs. Australia. Both the Springboks and the Wallabies enter the match needing a win for completely different reasons. For South Africa, after their loss to New Zealand they are in need of a win in order to set up a huge final match with the All Blacks for the title. For Australia, they need a win to help save their program. Sure, they beat Argentina in their last outing but it was hardly convincing and in some aspects controversially. With so much on the line and so much history between the two teams the match has the potential to be fantastic. It also has the potential to be a blowout, just like when the teams met a few weeks ago in Brisbane.
