All Blues Top NOVA For Women's 7's Title

On the Women's side of the bracket the final came down to NOVA against the Berkeley All Blues. NOVA got off to an extremely hot start after Sharlyn Carter touched down shortly after the opening whistle. However, the kicked missed putting their early lead a 5-0. NOVA looked threatening once again only a few minutes later but a penalty just short of the tryline allowed the All Blues to clear the danger.

Irene Gardner would then put the All Blues on the board after she burst through the defense to find herself along under the posts. With the conversion the All Blues let 7-5. Erin Overcash would then add to the All Blues lead shortly before the half. The conversion missed meaning NOVA found themselves down just a converted try at halftime.

In the second half it would be much of the same as the All Blues got on the board early. NOVA were their own worst enemy as they continually gave the ball to Berkeley is poor spots. Neither team could get much going under Jennifer Sever scored. It looked as if she might have been held up but after consulting with her assistants the referee awarded the try. The kicked missed but the All Blues still held a commanding 22-5 lead. Both teams would have a couple of opportunities at the end of the match but no more tries came of it. For the All Blues it was their first title since 2011. They also won the WPL.

It took sudden death but YoungBloodz proved that they are one of the improving women's teams after they beat the D.C. Furies 17-14 for the Plate. ORSU capped off a strong late-season run with a 22-17 win over the Chicago Lions for 7th place. Both teams had made it to the Cup quarterfinals but couldn't pick up a win in either the Cup quarterfinals and Plate semis.

Further down, the Boston Belles captures the Bowl with a 34-0 win over Philadelphia.  The Belles beat rivals Beantown 24-19 in the semi-finals while Philadelphia beat the Seattle Breakers 14-12.  Beantown then beat the Breakers 27-5 for 11th place. Detroit took the Shield after beating NOVA II 14-5.
