Eagles Name Starting Lineup To Face Tonga

Eagles head coach Mike Tolkin has announced his lineup ahead of Saturday's clash with Tonga and it only contains one change to the staring lineup. Chris Wyles is out of the squad all together and is replaced by Zach Pangelinan. It's unclear why Wyles was not named to the lineup but it is presumed to be an injury. Wyles was key last week to the Eagles victory notching a try and kicking five of six conversions. Pangelinan or Toby L'Estrange are expected to handle the kicking duties in Wyles absence. The only other change to the team is Derek Asbun returning from an ankle injury to replace Tony Purpura on the bench.

Also of note is that Robbie Shaw maintains his starting position over Mike Petri. Petri was tabbed as the starter on the tour after arriving late due to work commitments, but with Shaw playing so well last week, Tolkin's decision to go with him isn't completely surprising. He also worked well with Toby L'Estrange to run the offense. Lastly, Taku Ngwenya, who was rumored to be returning to the team, is not in the lineup. No work yet on if he is in Wales with the squad.

Starting lineup: Pittman, Biller, Fry, Doyle, Stanfill, LaValla, Quill, Clever, Shaw, L'Estrange, Hume, A. Suniula, Emerick, Dirksen, Pangelinan

Bench: Asbun, Wallace, Fenoglio, Dahl, Petri, R. Suniula, McDonald

  1. So, Manoa can start for Northamptom with a "sore" shoulder but not play AGAIN for the Eagles?! Something's rotten in Denmark (or Wales in this case)!
