Junior All-Americans Fall To Canada (with video)

The Junior All-Americans face an uphill struggle as they try to qualify for the Junior World Rugby Trophy. The All-Americans played Canada in the first of their two-leg series yesterday but came out on the losing end of a 60-22 result. Canada were the stronger team for most of the match but the U.S. were able to hold it close early. It was the visitors that went ahead 5-0 before a penalty from Patrick Madden kept it close. By halftime it was just a 15-10 lead for Canada. Ruben de Haas had the try for the Americans.

Canada slowly extended their lead to 27-10 in the second half before a red card to USA lock Bronson Teles put the U.S. in a hole they wouldn't be able to recover from. Canada was able to pile on the points despite tries from Justin Johnson and Campbell Johnstone. Now the U.S. will hope to flip the script on Saturday in the second leg.
