Rugby League Notes: Hawks-Canada Fixture Off, Toronto Wins Again

A few rugby league notes to pass along (you can also check out our new feature on Hawks Overseas).

Hawks-Canada Fixture Off

According to Brian Lowe any chance of seeing the USA Hawks and Canada Wolverines square off before the New Zealand-England match in Denver in June is off. The organizers wanted the match to help pull in local fans that may not be as interested in the New Zealand-England match. It would also help showcase North American rugby league.

Toronto Wins Again

It was close but the Toronto Wolfpack have won again. This time they beat the Leigh Centurions 28-26. Five different players had tries for the Wolfpack. With their matches in the UK finished until the postseason the team now returns to Canada for eight straight matches. Through fifteen matches the Wolfpack have 27 points, five clear of their closest opponent.

Hawks Name Manager

The USA Hawks have named Bill Neilson as their manager. he is the owner and CEO of the Tampa Mayhem.
