Americans Set To Play In Algarve 7s

Several Americans will be playing in the Algarve 7s next weekend in Portugal. The tournament is one of those tournaments that features a bunch of high level players either currently playing for their national teams or in the playing pool. That is the case for Connor Wallace-Sims and Rick Kirkland. The two Northeast Academy standouts will be playing in the tournament with the New Zealand Metro team. Wallace-Sims of course has some Eagles 7s caps to his name. Mose Fualauau and Todd Clever are also rumored to be participating.

Getting high-level playing time is important for players like this. The number of opportunities for players like this hasn't been high over the last few years. Even the Las Vegas Invitational, which has been a traditional battleground for pool players, has been as strong as in past years. A budget crunch has also limited opportunities for the Falcons. That is what makes this move for Wallace-Sims and Kirkland important.
