Philadelphia-Whitemarsh Names New 7s Coach

Press Release

Philadelphia Whitemarsh Rugby Football Club is pleased to announce the hiring of Jack Foley as the Head Coach of their 7s program.

Prior to joining PWRFC, Jack has held a number of high profile coaching positions across the tri-state area. Jack is the current Head 7s coach with Atlantis High School Boys Elite and the Pennsylvania High School All Stars, and was previously the Head 7s coach of EPRU High School All Stars in 2011/12. His 15s coaching experience includes the Pennsylvania High School All Stars, Malvern Prep, West Chester University, Villanova University, Valley Forge U-19 Rugby Club, and Philadelphia Women’s Rugby Club.

When asked about the opportunity ahead at PWRFC, Jack noted, “I’m excited to join a club like PWRFC that has proven itself and grown in the 15s scene throughout the recent years. This is a way for me to give the men at PWRFC and college players home from school an opportunity to work on and improve their rugby game in the summer. I’m excited to work with PWRFC to create an amazing 7s experience for everyone in the Philadelphia area, as well as fielding a strong and competitive side.”

President Tim Antoian praised the hiring of Foley, “Jack is the perfect man for the job. Not only is he a great guy, but he has a wealth of rugby knowledge and is dedicated to growing the sport from the ground up. We have Nic Clapinson running our 15s program and now Jack Foley running our 7s program. You couldn’t ask for a better coaching duo and I couldn’t be more excited for the future for PWRFC.”

The PWRFC 7s player pool will consist of current club members, college players, as well as any other interested players living in the Greater Philadelphia Area. The player-oriented Sevens Program will be based at PWRFC’s home training grounds in Conshohocken and will grant members the unique opportunity to choose the commitment and competitive level that best fits their needs.
