DI-AA Playoffs Ready For This Weekend

The spring DI-AA playoffs kick off this weekend as eight teams drive for the finals in Fullerton. Mary Washington was the Fall champion and will play the winner from the Spring.

Out West it will be Northwest Collegiate Rugby Championship winners Western Washington against Pacific Western runners-up Nevada. Western has been one of the best DI-AA teams in the country the last few years and this could be the year they go all the way. Nevada lost to Chico State in the Pac West final. Speaking of Chico State, they will take on perennial playoff team Cal State-Long Beach, who won the Gold Coast Conference. Whoever wins on Saturday will play the other winner on Sunday to make the Spring final.

Out East it will be a couple of familiar names. Central Florida are back in the playoffs and are ready to make it back to the championship make. They won the SIRC and will take on Kansas who finished second in the Heart of America Conference. The winner of the HOA, Missouri, will play Ivy Conference champion Dartmouth. The Big Green haven't been the juggernaut they have been in the past but have the firepower capable of making the final.
