Warriors Move Home Opener To Rio Tinto Stadium

The Utah Warriors have moved their home opener to Rio Tinto Stadium. The team was scheduled to play the Glendale Raptors in pre-season play at the new Zions Bank Stadium but with that stadium not quite ready the decision was made to move the match to Rio Tinto. All other games will be back at Zions Bank Stadium as originally scheduled with the exception of their pre-season match against Ontario.

Like many other teams in Major League Rugby the Warriors have scheduled several home friendly matches before the season begins. Houston has been the most prominent at this but Glendale and NOLA Gold have also played friendly matches at home so far. The only teams to have not played a pre-season match so far are Seattle, San Diego, and Austin. Affiliate club Rugby United New York has already played a match and will be playing another this weekend.

Utah's home pre-season schedule includes the match against the Raptors, Ontario Arrows, and Alberta Wolfpack.  They open up their regular season on the road against San Diego.
