Hawks RLWC Vet Moves Overseas

There aren't a lot of American rugby league players playing overseas. To be sure there are a few but not that many. Even the Toronto Wolfpack only have one American on the roster and they are based in North America (but are obviously Canadian). Now you can add another name to that list. USA Hawks international Corey Makelim have signed up with the Sheffield Eagles. The team plays in the Championship (second division) in England, the same competition as the Wolfpack.

Makelim has played rugby league in Australia with the Parramatta Eels junior team as well as with the Mount Pritchard Mounties. He also appeared at the last Rugby League World Cup for the Hawks. USA Rugby League legend Mark Offerdahl also plays with Sheffield. The Eagles are currently at the bottom of the standings without a win.
