Taufete'e Out 8-10 Weeks With Knee Injury

Joe Taufete'e will be out 8-10 weeks after suffering a knee injury in the Eagles win over Canada on Saturday. Taufete'e went down just ten minutes into the match and got some attention from the training staff but he continued to play before coming off with about 20 minutes left. According to his club, Worcester, Taufete'e tore his MCL.

The injury comes at a poor time for Taufete'e. He was playing really well for Worcester having made more than a dozen appearances on the team. He was also getting occasional starts for the side. That was expected to continue as the season wore along. Now he's looking at a mid-April comeback at the earliest and in all likelihood his club season is over. He could be healthy enough to play for the Eagles in June when they play two matches at home and one in Canada.
