Houston Tops Capital Selects

The Houston SaberCats have improved their pre-season record to 3-2 thanks to a 49-3 win over the Capital Selects. The three wins for Houston have come over the Seattle Saracens, James Bay, and the Capital Selects. Their losses came against the UBCOB (Vancouver) Ravens and the Uruguay national team, who just qualified for the World Cup. Next up for the team is the Chicago Lions. The match also marks the halfway point of their pre-season.

Despite the eventual large scoreline it was close early with both teams battling. The SaberCats only held a 14-0 lead at halftime. The Capital Selects grabbed their only points of the match with a penalty early in the second half but eventually Houston found their groove to run away with the win. Overall, it was the second match against MLR opposition for the Capital Selects. They lost to NOLA Gold a few weeks back.
