Women Eagles Named For Sydney

The Eagles have named a relatively inexperienced side as they head to Sydney in a few weeks. While there are experienced players like Ryan Carlyle, Cheta Emba, Nicole Heavirland, Alev Kelter, and Naya Tapper on the roster there are some players with either no Series experience or little experience. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Now is the time to integrate those players into the team. There aren't many women's tournaments so any time on the Series is going to be valuable for them ahead of Olympic qualifying on the Series next year.

The U.S. finished second in Sydney last year to Canada and will be hoping to replicate that again this year. They have a tough go as they face England, Japan, and New Zealand in pool play.

Squad: Tia Blythe, Sarah Buonopane, Ryan Carlyle, Cheta Emba, Jordan Gray, Abby Gustaitis, Nicole Heavirland (C), Alev Kelter, Nathalie Kosko, Kiki Morgan, Hope Rogers, Naya Tapper

TIAR is currently holding a pledge drive. If you liked what you read consider a donation.
