Eagles Name ARC Roster

Photo: Connie Hatfield

Gary Gold has named his first side as full-time head coach of the Eagles as the team gets ready for the ARC. Overall, the team is pretty close to a full strength squad minus some European stalwarts like Greg Peterson, Chris Baumann, Samu Manoa, and Andrew Durutalo. Still, at least for one or two of the matches Nick Civetta, Titi Lamositele, Dino Waldren, Joe Taufete'e, and Blaine Scully are all in the line-up. It's expected, like in year's past, that most of the overseas professionals will play against Argentina XV and maybe Canada before returning to their clubs. The later part of the ARC is mainly used to other players experience which is why Gold has called in 39 players.

Major League Rugby will contribute quite a few players to the team with most of the domestic Eagles making an appearance. Cam Dolan, Peter Malcolm, Nate Brakeley, Nate Augspurger, Shaun Davies, and a host of others are in camp and expected to play a big role.

  1. He is the starting #10 for Sale in the Premiership, so I can see why he won't be playing. That said, I like Magie and Cima. I'm curious to see Hooley play. Never heard of him before.
