Western Washington Wins NCRC 7s

Western Washington has capped off a strong Northwest Collegiate Rugby Conference season with a win at the conference tournament. It comes after the team won a pair of tournaments earlier in the fall and gives them a spot in the College 7s Nationals. The Vikings ran through pool play beating Oregon State, Idaho, and Boise State. Surprisingly the Broncos were winless in pool play. After advancing out of pool play Wester blanked Washington State 29-0 before beating Gonzaga 25-0 in the semi-finals. In the finals the Vikings beat Oregon State 34-12. The final was a repeat of the Vikings pool play win.

For their part Oregon State beat Eastern Washington in the quarterfinals before beating Boise State 21-5. The Broncos had made up for their pool play disappointment with an upset of Oregon in the quarterfinals where they won 31-7. Oregon had topped their pool beating out Gonzaga, Washington State, and Eastern Washington.
