NCRC 7s Set, Western & Boise Win Tournaments

The NCRC 7s tournament field is set after a couple of warm-up tournaments over the weekend. Western Washington will enter as one of the favorites after a couple of prior 7s tournament wins. They could be seriously challenged by the likes of Washington State and Oregon. Noticeably missing this year is the University of Washington but they haven't played in any tournaments so far.

Western Washington find themselves in Pool A with Gonzaga and Idaho. Gonzaga could prove to be the surprise team of the tournament. Pool B has Washington State, Oregon State, and Eastern Washington. Pool C is Oregon, Boise State, and Western Oregon.

As mentioned, Western Washington won yet again over the weekend. They won the Oregon State 7s beating Oregon 29-5 in the final. Western fielded three teams while Oregon and Oregon State fielded two teams a piece. Oregon State took first place over Western Washington's second side. Western beat their second side in the semi-finals and Oregon beat Oregon State.

Over in Idaho, Boise State won their own tournament beating visiting side Weber State from Ogden, Utah 34-14 in the final. Visiting Utah Conference teams Weber State, Dixie State, and Idaho State all participated along with Boise State, Idaho, and Washington State. The Cougars finished in third place.
