Mid-Atlantic: Schuylkill River & Potomac Exiles Win

All eyes were going to be on the match between Mid-Atlantic leaders Norfolk and Rocky Gorge but unfortunately that match was postponed meaning that we'll have to wait to see the leaders square off. That meant there were two matches in the competition over the weekend. Easily the closest match was Schuylkill River beating the Pittsburgh Harlequins 38-34. The Exiles went ahead early with a two minute try from Ricky Schneider. The Harlequins kicked a penalty to get on the board but then two straight tries from Schuylkill River pushed them ahead to 19-3. The teams then traded tries with Schuylkill River leading 26-17 early into the second half.

Thanks to a second half surge the Harlequins pushed out to a one point lead before Schuylkill River came back. Pittsburgh would retake the lead but a try from Cody Bukowski gave the match to Schuylkill River with four minutes to go. The other match in the round the Potomac Exiles beat the Baltimore-Chesapeake Brumbies 27-10.

The Pittsburgh Harlequins do have a lead in the standings despite the loss. They have a three point lead over Norfolk although they've played five games while Norfolk and Rocky Gorge have only played three.
