Hawks Fall Hard In World Cup Opener

The USA Hawks didn't get their World Cup campaign off to a great start with a lopsided 58-12 loss to Fiji Batu. After just a quarter of the match the Hawks were already down 21-6. It was 38-6 at halftime. Star Jarryd Hayne, who had previously played with the San Francisco 49ers, was all over the place for Fiji and became the joint all-time leading scorer in the history of the World Cup. Matt Shipway and Junior Vaivai had tries for the Hawks. Up next is Italy on November 5th. Italy lost big to Ireland in their first match.
