DI: Metropolis, Chicago Lions Stay In The Midwest Lead

Metropolis and the Chicago Lions have maintained their strong lead at the top of the Midwest after another pair of wins.  Each win for the Lions and Metropolis weren't blowouts but they were solid wins nonetheless. Metropolis moved to 7-0 on the year after they beat the Kansas City Blues 30-19. However, the match wasn't really that close. Metropolis led 27-5 late in the second half. From their they only managed a penalty while Kansas City piled in a couple of tries.

For the Chicago Lions they beat Cincinnati 36-21. Like Metropolis, the Lions ran out to a good sized lead, 36-14 at one point, before the Wolfhounds scored a late try. In other matches in the round the Chicago Griffins pulled out their first win of the season by beating the Milwaukee Barbarians 22-19. A late try from Jeff Hain gave them the win. Also winning was Columbus who beat Palmer 33-31. That match was also settled by a late try with Tevita Maitavuki scoring and Taylor Howden converting.
