Cal Wins West Coast 7s Yet Again

As expected no one could stop the Cal Bears from claiming yet another West Coast 7s title. Cal actually sent two teams to the tournament, one called Cal and one called "Bears." They actually need up playing themselves in the final. Cal was unbeaten in Pool A beating Fresno State and Cal Poly by comfortable margins. The Bears beat USC by a try and UC-Davis in Pool B. Pool C was won by San Diego State. They edged UCLA, both of whom beat Stanford, by a point. Pool D was won by Grand Canyon.

In the Cup semi-finals Cal beat Grand Canyon 24-17 and the Bears beat San Diego State 29-5. The quality among the top four was pretty solid. Grand Canyon beat San Diego State to claim third place. Fifth place went to Cal Poly. They beat UC-Davis 19-15 in the Plate Final. The Bowl final went to USC.
