Northeast Academy Claim Elite 7s

Elite 7s tournaments have been a fixture for the men for years going back several years ago to the Elite City 7s. This last weekend in Hanover, New Hampshire it was the women's turn. Top teams from around the country, including the Northeast Academy, Tiger Rugby, Atavus, Armed Forces, and the Stars all participated. In the end it was the Northeast Academy that defeated the Tiger Cubs 19-7 in the final. For the Northeast the victory was a rebound after a tight 29-26 loss to Tiger Rugby in pool play. Tiger Rugby went unbeaten in pool play blanking the Stars, beating the Armed Forces, and Atavus. The loss to Tiger Rugby was the only loss for the Northeast in the tournament.

To make the semi-finals the Northeast Academy had to beat Atavus 17-10 while Tiger Rugby beat the Armed Forces 22-5. The Armed Forces had previously played a play-in match against the Stars to get the right to play in the semi-finals. Atavus would eventually finish in third place after they beat the Armed Forces 12-5.
