DI: Metropolis Stays Strong In Midwest

Metropolis had their best result of the season over the weekend to stay first in the Midwest. Metropolis crushed the Chicago Griffins 109-12 to push their record to a perfect 4-0. They now have a three point advantage over the Chicago Lions in the standings.

For their part the Lions beat Columbus 25-24 in the tightest match in the division. Both teams have hopes of finishing first at the end of the year so the result for the Lions is crucial in their efforts to catch Metropolis. The Lions went ahead 22-10 on tries from Frederik de Beer, Eric Williams, and Cameron Spencer. Riekert Hattingh and Taylor Howden scored for Columbus. In the second half Chicago added a penalty while Columbus tried to storm back with converted tries from Hattingh and Zack Stryffeler but the earlier missed conversions came back to haunt them.

In other matches Kansas City pushed their record to 2-2 with a 38-20 win over Palmer and the Cincinnati Wolfhounds beat the Milwaukee Barbarians 48-28.
