DI: Metropolis, Chicago Lions Pulling Away

Metropolis and the Chicago Lions have carved out a good sized lead over the rest of the field in the Midwest. Metropolis improved their record to 6-0 with 29 points while the Chicago Lions are at 5-1 with 26 points. For Metropolis it was another weekend of scoring tries and keeping their opponent off the board. They beat Columbus 47-15. The result is a bit surprising considering that Columbus were one of the favorites to start the season. The Chicago Lions similarly had an easy run. They beat the Milwaukee Barbarians 64-12.

Overall it wasn't a great weekend for close scores in the Midwest. The other lopsided result of the round had Palmer beating the Chicago Griffins 46-30. It has been a less than ideal start for the Griffins. They are winless on the year with only 2 points.  Palmer are near the bottom of the standings as well.

Lastly, the Cincinnati Wolfhounds beat the Kansas City Blues 22-18. The Wolfhounds and the Blues played it close throughout. With just ten minutes to go the Blues held a 19-18 lead. The difference came when Devante Manu hit a penalty for the Wolfhounds.
