Midwest DI Recap: Metropolis Win Again

Metropolis are the only unbeaten side remaining in the Midwest with the season just two weeks old. Early on the Midwest is proving to have a lot of parity with all but two of the eight teams--Metropolis at 2-0 and the Chicago Griffins at 0-2--with one win and one loss. The latest result for the Metropolis was a big one coming over the Chicago Lions. The Lions went up 3-0 in the match before tries from Carter Beelman, Simeon Tschumper, and Trace Bolstad, along with a penalty from Bryan Ptomey made it 20-3. The Lions got back into it with a couple of tries while Metropolis could only manage a penalty. With less than twenty minutes to go the Lions took the lead with tries from Eric Williams and Andrew Rose to lead 27-23. However, Metropolis came back with several late scores to earn a 38-32 win.

The Kansas City Blues got on the winning side of the ledge with a 41-31 win over Columbus. It was a big win for the Blues who erased a 26-8 deficit in the 30th minute. It was close, only at 27-26 in the 60th minute before the Blues pulled away. In other scores the Milwaukee Barbarians beat Palmer 51-33 and the Cincinnati Wolfhounds beat the Chicago Griffins 36-26.
