Life West, WAC, & Atavus Claims Nationals Berths

A trio of organizations claimed four spots at the Club 7s Nationals over the weekend in the Pacific North. Life West will send both men's and women's teams to Minneapolis while the Washington Athletic Club and Atavus will send teams as well.

The men's competition featured four teams--Life West and Olympic Club from NorCal, and WAC and Westside Ronin from the Pacific Northwest. WAC was able to make it to the cup final relatively easily while Life West had a draw against Olympic Club and a narrow win over the Ronin. However, in the final Life West turned it on to go on to win 19-14. Tyler Harrison, Calvin Hell, and Tookey Stevenson all had tried for Life West. The Gladiators feature several PRO players including Martini Talapusi, Devereaux Ferris, and current Eagles 7s pool play Naima Fualaau. WAC similarly are loaded with talent including Shalom Suniula and Mike Palefau. Both squads will be contenders to win the whole thing in Minneapolis.

On the women's side both Life West and Atavus got past powerhouse the Berkeley All Blues to advance. Atavus won the final. Similar to the men, both Atavus and Life West are favorites at Nationals. Both bring on a host of players with Championship experience.
