Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

The Top 14 kick of its season last weekend and for Americans in the competition it took little time to make an impact. Samu Manoa already looks like one of the key pieces for Toulon this year. He was everywhere playing number eight for the team. Also starting and playing the full match in the Top 14 was Taku Ngwenya. Dave Ryan started for Agen but had to come out early. Down in the Pro D2 Eric Fry carried the standard this weekend with another solid match. He continues to get good time at a good level. Lastly among players that saw competition, Pas Dunn came off the bench for Hawke's Bay in the Mitre 10 Cup.

Over in the British Isles players are in pre-season and many of them had the week off. That includes Chris Wyles who rests up ahead of the Saracens season. He was recently profiled in England for his beer company he launched with Al Hargreaves. You can read that piece here.
