Atlanta Rhinos Win USARL Championshp

One of the most intriguing things about last weekend's USARL final between Atlanta and New York was that it pitted two teams against each other who hadn't played each other all season. New York had dominated the North while Atlanta did the same in the South. With no team from either conference playing each other during the regular season it was always going to be interesting to see how they matched up against each other. In the end it the Rhinos that reigned supreme with a 32-18 victory.

It was the Knights that actually opened up the score early as New York's Alex Foster touched down for a try.  However, the Rhinos started to chip into the lead with tries from Nick Barthel, Max Pierce and Terrance Williams to lead 16-6. The lead was even more impressive when you consider they had a man in the bin for much of that stretch.

New York fought back in the second half with another converted try and Atlanta's Tomu Osborne was shown a red card to make matters worse. Still, even down a man Atlanta were able to control much of the match with a couple of more tries to lead 28-12. Each side would score once more to make the final score 32-18.

Next up for many players is the North-South All-Star game on September 9th.
