USA Wins Maccabi Gold

The U.S. has taken home gold at the Maccabi Games. The U.S. Maccabi team is made up of Jewish Rugby players from the USA that compete at the World Maccabiah Games and Pan American Maccabi Games. The U.S. beat South Africa 31-21 in the final. In the preliminary round the U.S. beat Australia 29-11 and Israel 22-15. That gave them a semi-final match-up against Argentina. They avenged for their loss in the Pan American games with a 31-19 win to advance to the final. The likes of Mason Pederson, Kevin Swiryn, and Chance Doyle turned out for the team. Zack Test helped coach the team.

The 7s tournament didn't go as well for the team. It began with a 17-12 loss to Australia and then it continued with a 24-10 loss to South Africa. That put them in the 5-6th place match against France where they did much better with a 42-0 result.
