U.S.-eligible Stevens Signs With The Houston Strikers

The Houston Strikers have announced the acquisition of their second front-row players of the day. Fresh of signing local player Jack Riley the team has also announced that they have signed Lindsey Stevens from Easts (Eastern Suburbs) in the Australian Shute Shield. Stevens is U.S.-qualified and previously was in camp with the Junior All-Americans. He is the half-brother of Jake Turnbull and his mother is from Texas.

“I would like to thank Houston Strikers Head Coach Fitzpatrick and President Jeremy Turner for giving me the opportunity to join my step-brother Jake in becoming a Houston Striker and representing my mother’s home state of Texas. I am looking forward to coming back to the Lone Star State where I will be closer to family and be a part of building the game of Rugby there,” Stevens said in a press release.

Coach Fitzpatrick said, “Lindsey is a talented young hooker who has a strong set-piece game and the athleticism to be a positive contributor around the paddock. He joins us on the back of a having had a strong Shute Shield season in Australia and we are excited to have him join the Strikers’ family.”
