South Panthers To Play In RAN Superweek

The South Panthers will have a strong presence at the Rugby Americas North Superweek next month. The tournament, which features a U-19 men's tournament and a women's 10 tournament, will be hosted by the Okapi Wanderers in Miramar, Florida from July 15th through the 22nd. The South Panthers will be fielding a U-19 team that is set to play Jamaica on day one in the quarterfinals. Each team is guaranteed two matches. The women's team will play three 10s matches against Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, and Mexico. All matches are set to be streamed. In addition the Okapi Wanderers will host a Rookie Rugby demonstration and will play Harton College from the UK in an exhibition match.

Also in South Panthers news the team's match against Bermuda this weekend has been called off. The Panthers have been awarded the victory but it probably won't make much of a difference as Mexico are expected to be the top team in the North Area and will advance to the RAN Championship against the winner of the South area. Additionally, the region could send a team to the RAN 7s in Mexico City in November. The U.S. national 7s team isn't sending a team so there is an opening for an American entry.
