Kyle Sumsion Joins Houston Strikers

The Houston Strikers have added an Eagle to their mix with the signing of Kyle Sumsion. The former BYU standout has a handful of caps for the Eagles over the last few years making his debut in 2014. He spent last season playing for the Sacramento Express in PRO Rugby where he was a solid contributor throughout the season. The Utah native brings a lot of experience to the Strikers as well as a domestic presence. He was also previously a graduate assistant at Lindenwood-Belleville.

“I am honored and thrilled to join the Houston Strikers organization and take part in the inaugural Major League Rugby season. I am grateful to coach Fitzpatrick, the Strikers ownership and everyone involved with the team for letting me continue to play the game I love at a high level. My family and I look forward to moving to the city of Houston and becoming a part of the community, I can’t wait to get to work in a first-class organization like the Strikers,” said Sumsion in a press release.

Coach Fitzpatrick said, “I couldn’t be more pleased to have Kyle join the Strikers for our inaugural season. Kyle is an uncompromising back rower with a big engine and a hard edge who leads from the front and will give the squad both experience and leadership.”
