Clermont Draw See Eagles Given Decent Draw

The Women Eagles have learned their pool draw as their season concludes in Clermont next weekend. The team are in Pool A where they will face New Zealand, Ireland, and Japan. It's potentially a good draw for the Eagles and they should make it to the quarterfinals. New Zealand have been incredible all year with the only tournament they haven't won being the Sydney 7s. Who stopped them in that tournament? The Eagles with a win in the semi-finals. Ireland and Japan are also winnable games for the Eagles. They are above them in the standings and both Ireland and Japan have struggled this year at times. That said, Ireland especially has given the Eagles trouble.

The U.S. are in a close battle with Fiji and Russia for a spot in the top four. A strong tournament in Clermont could be enough to catapult themselves into fourth. They are six points behind Russia.

Pool A: New Zealand, USA, Ireland, Japan
Pool B: Canada, Russia, England, Brazil
Pool C: France, Australia, Fiji, Spain
