Belmont Shore Maintain 7s Lead In SoCal

Belmont Shore have kept their lead at the top of the Pacific South qualifier standings after a win at the Orange County 7s. This time the club beat Santa Monica. The tournament win makes Belmont Shore two for two so far on the year. There was a bit of controversy as Belmont advanced to the final thanks to Belmont 2 forfeiting in the semi-finals. In the other semi-final Santa Monica would beat OMBAC. OMBAC would go on to lose to Belmont 2 but they keep their second spot in the standings.

With two rounds to go Belmont Shore have a three point edge over Santa Monica. OMBAC are just two points in back of of the Dolphins with the Orange County Ravens two points behind OMBAC. Tempe also have an outside shot at the top two.

The San Diego Surfers took home the women's title at the Beach 7s beating the Santa Barbara Academy. It was the first stop on the women's series.

Competition now takes a break for Independence Day and will resume on July 15th with the Sunsplash 7s.
