Seattle Women To Play For Title, Men Fall In Playoffs

The fifteens season is done for the Seattle Saracens after a 20-11 loss to unbeaten Burnaby Lake in the BC Premier League semi-finals. The Saracens fought hard in the match and kept Burnaby Lake close but the Canadians were simply too strong on the day. Burnaby Lake led 17-3 at halftime. In the other semi-final UBC beat the Castaway Wanderers.

It wasn't all disappointing for the team over the weekend. The women's side advance to their final with a thorough 66-22 victory over Cowichan. The Saracens were dominant throughout leading 26-10 and turning the screws in the second half. They will now play Westshore in the championship match. Westshore were the best team during the regular season and beat Capilano 44-5 in their semi-final. The match will be the only opportunity for the Seattle women to win a title this year after they were not allowed to play in the U.S.A. Rugby playoffs.
