Seattle Saracens Fall Short In BC Final

The Seattle Saracens women were nearly unstoppable all year in the British Columbia Women's Premier League. The only team able to stop them was Westshore. The Saracens couldn't overcome their rivals in the regular season and then lost to to the club 67-17 in the final. The match was close at halftime before Westshore pulled away in the second half. Overall, it was another excellent season for the Saracens. Finishing second to a team that regularly places players on a national team that is expected to contend for a World Cup this year is not a bad accomplishment. Now Saracens will take a break before focusing on the summer 7s season.

The men's team finished their season last week with a loss to unbeaten Burnaby Lake in the semi-finals. Burnaby Lake found their match last weekend as they lost to UBC in the Premier League final. Like the women, they'll take some time off before focusing on 7s. Neither the men's or women's teams will be participating in the U.S.A. Rugby club playoffs.
