Ireland Name Travel Squad For North American Tour

Ireland has named their travelling squad for matches against the U.S., Canada, and Japan. The team is of course with out most of their top names as they will be with the British & Irish Lions in New Zealand. In addition to the 11 Lions the team will also be without injured players Rob Kearney, Sean Cronin, and Jamie Heaslip. While there are some experienced players on the team like Keith Earls (59 caps), Cian Healy (67 caps), Devin Toner (47 caps), and Simon Zebo (33 caps) most of the team is very young with eight uncapped players on the roster. Four players have just one cap to their name and roughly half the squad (14 players) have less than 5 caps. The average caps in the squad is just short of 11 and when you take out the experienced players mentioned above it becomes only just short of 5.  All of that said every player has a lot of experience playing for top teams in the Pro12.
