Houston Strikers Sign Former Ulster Prop Adam Macklin

The Houston Strikers continue to build out their roster with just under a year to go until they start their inaugural Major League Rugby campaign. The team is brought in 27 year old former Ulster prop Adam Macklin. Macklin most recently spent the last couple of year with the Rotherham Titans in the RFU Championship but before that spent four years with Ulster where he made 31 appearances.

Macklin joins a growing list of overseas players the Strikers have brought in ahead of their campaign.  So far the team has brought in Charlie Hewitt who spent time with Worcester and Sam Windsor who played for Ulster and the Brumbies Academy. Windsor is also they backs coach. Bringing in players like this makes a lot of sense. The Strikers don't have the budget to bring in big names so they are looking for players in Europe that they think have slipped through the cracks. They are hoping they can turn it around similar to how Dom Waldouck became one of the best players in PRO Rugby last year after failing to land a European contract.
