Eagles Abroad: Weekend Review

Eagles Abroad is brought to you by Grubber, makers of fine sporting apparel.

It was the end of the regular season for Americans in the top three competitions in Europe. Only a handful of players are moving on to the next rounds while others will have time to rest up before the Eagles summer series. In the Premiership, only Chris Wyles, Titi Lamostitele, and Saracens are moving on to the playoffs. They are also busy preparing for action in the European Champions Cup. Even though they aren't in the playoffs players like Joe Taufete'e and AJ MacGinty got in another good run of matches. In the Pro12, only U.S.-eligible (although soon to not be eligible) Sam Underhill and the Ospreys are in the playoffs. Down in the Top 14 Taku Ngwenya played once again for Brive. However, they are going to miss out on the playoffs. Samu Manoa will likewise miss out of the playoffs but only because of injury. Toulon is one of the teams that made it. In the Pro D2 the season is over for the likes of David Tameilau and Eric Fry but U.S.-eligible Dave Ryan will play for a little while longer after Agen have been included in the promotion chase.
