Andrew Durutalo Joins Ealing

Andrew Durutalo is taking his talents to the Ealing Trailfinders next season. The flanker and Eagles 7s star has signed a contract for the next season as Ealing remain in the RFU Championship. He'll join Thretton Palamo as the two Americans in the competition this year after none were in it last season. Durutalo comes to the team with Super Rugby experience having played with the Sunwolves and is expected to immediately be a big part of the Ealing side. Playing with Ealing should also give him a full season of 15s with just a couple of years remaining before the World Cup.

“I’m very excited to be joining Ealing Trailfinders and I've been following the progress of the team this season,” Durutalo said in a press release from the club. “I'm eager to keep learning and fit into the Ealing Trailfinders environment and culture.

“I've always wanted to experience rugby in the UK after I finished playing Super Rugby and I’m very humbled and privileged to have this opportunity. I hope I can bring that experience with me and add to the Ealing Trailfinders style of play.”

  1. Although I think he has talent to be in a top level competition, this is still good news. He needs consistent 15s time to get ready for the world cup, this will definitely afford him a starting spot week in and week out as long as he is healthy rather than in/out of the lineup in the Premiership/Top 14/Super. Probably even pays better than Eagles 7s residency (almost anything would).
