The Spring DI-AA championship will be between defending champions UC-Davis and Florida State after each survived their regionals.
As expected the West was tight. The closest, and one of the best matches, was a narrow 17-14 win for Grand Canyon University over hosts Western Washington. Maceo Brown and Brent Williams scored for Grand Canyon to put them up 12-0 before Western Washington rattled off two of their own. The difference was they made their conversions to lead 14-12. That lead nearly held up until Grand Canyon scored a try with not much time left. In the other Saturday match UC-Davis beat Long Beach State 46-21.
On Sunday, it was another close match but UC-Davis came out ahead 26-17. The Aggies ran out to a 12-0 lead on two quick tries before the Lopes scored via Connor Fischmann. UC-Davis added a penalty to increase the lead to 15-5. Another try and penalty would see UC-Davis increase their lead to 23-5 before Grand Canyon went on a run with two tries to make it close at the end.

In the East there was one close match and two blowouts as Florida State advanced. The Seminoles first match against North Texas was the closest result. North Texas went up 7-0. However, two tries from Jordan Lupton changed things in the way of Florida State. Two penalties and a try swung things back in the favor of North Texas. Things would continue to move back and forth between the two teams with Florida State eventually taking a 30-21 lead with five minutes to go. North Texas would make things close with a minute to go but they eventually ran out of time to make the comeback.
In the other semi-final Missouri beat Brown 55-17 and then in the final Florida State blanked Missouri 38-0.
UC-Davis and Florida State will face-off at Stanford University on April 22nd for the right to play Notre Dame College for the overall DI-AA title.
