Seattle Clinches Playoff Spot

The Seattle Saracens are in firm position in fourth place in the BC Premier League after beating Vancouver Rowing Club 29-20 at Brockton Oval on Saturday. It was a closer match than expected against the bottom team in the standings but a win is a win and now with 22 points the Saracens have secured a playoff spot. They have one more regular season match left against the UBCOB Ravens next week.

The BC Premier League playoffs give a bye to the top two teams in the standings and right now that will be Burnaby Lake and Castaway Wanderers. Seeds 3-6 will fight it out in the first round. As things stand Seattle are in fourth place and would play Capilano. That said, things are bunched tightly in the competition and could change.

On the women's side of things it didn't go the Saracens way as they fell to Capilano 31-17. Seattle have two matches remaining before the playoffs and are in second place behind Westshore. The top four teams in the division make the playoffs and if the playoffs started today they would also play Capilano.
