Manoa Breaks Arm, Out Eight Weeks

Samu Manoa was a surprise scratch in the Toulon line-up ahead of last weekend's match against Clermont and now we know why. In the team's last training before the match Manoa broke his forearm and will be out for eight weeks. That almost certainly rules him out for the rest of the Top 14 season and puts his availability for the Eagles summer tour in question. He could return in time for the Eagles match against Ireland and certainly for World Cup qualifying against Canada but French clubs have been known to put pressure on players to miss national team duty, especially if they are coming off an injury. One thing that Eagles fans should keep in mind is that Manoa has proven himself capable enough that he could be beyond club pressure at this point. Still, it's a bummer to see his season end early and hopefully he is back in time for the Summer Series.
