The Eagles road to Japan goes through Hamilton, Ontario after Rugby Canada announced today that the city will host the first leg of the World Cup Qualifying Series between the U.S. and Canada. The match will be at Tim Hortons Field on June 24th. The Stadium, which was refurbished for the 2015 Pan-Am Games in Toronto, is the home of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, or Ti-Cats for short. Tim Hortons Field holds 24,000 fans. The city is part of the Golden Horseshoe that encompasses the Niagara Falls region as well as Toronto. It's not a far drive from Buffalo, New York.
The return leg of the Series will be at Torero Stadium in San Diego on July 1st, which also happens to be the 150th anniversary of Canada becoming a country. Now with this location set the Eagles will be making their way West this summer. First up is Ireland on June 10th followed by Georgia (the country) in Georgia (the state), and then Canada in Hamilton on June 24th before heading to San Diego.
